Social Network Service (SNS) education was designed to facilitate more effective exchange of information and to improve communication among NGO women leaders of the Korean National Council of Women (KNCW). The SNS education workshop was conducted by the KNCW from June 9 to June 19, 2014. This program was a tailor made SNS education course designed to prepare middle-aged and elderly women leaders in a time of rapidly changing information and communication technology. With the rapid expansion of internet capability and use of smart phones by the population, SNS is emerging as an incredibly valuable tool to assist those searching for information and sharing ideas. As earlier modes of communication and information gathering were simpler, many of today's women feel uncomfortable with the new, yet more efficient, medium.

President Jung-Sook Kim, who participated in the closing ceremony, applauded the concerted effort of those who so earnestly took part in the program. She encouraged them to actively utilize the knowledge and skills they had gained, with the understanding that the more it is used, the easier it becomes.

During this SNS education program, appropriate theory was provided along with hands on practice so that women leaders who completed the training could readily apply the principles of SNS in their daily lives. Also, by utilizing SNS, women NGO members that had here-to-fore been limited to the domestic realm were now capable of employing more modern, broader reaching, methods of communication which would serve them well in the advancement of a better connected global women's movement. The implications in connection with networking are, clearly, enormous.
